Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer


Peter L. Higgins, A 25+-year veteran in the Information Technology industry and a ISO 27001 Certified Lead Auditor, founded the firm in 2001 soon after 9/11. 1SecureAudit was officially established as a Limited Liability Company in Virginia in June of 2003 and now part of TrustDecisions LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company founded in March of 2016. He started his ICT career with Harris Corporation and has managed teams in small boutique management consulting firms and systems integrators. Most recently, his projects have included Information Risk Strategy Execution, Corporate Enterprise Security Intelligence, Executive Protection Security Detail, Corporate Investigations, Disaster Preparedness Exercises and the Critical Infrastructure Resiliency domains.

In his "Linchpin" role at 1SecureAudit, Peter is responsible for the delivery of an Operational Risk Management Framework and to analyze and manage new threats in clients' operations in the face of increasing loss events. Peter has contributed to the growth of two ABS Capital Partners portfolio companies since 1999 as a founding employee of Simplexity, Inc. that was later sold to wireless infrastructure provider InPhonic, Inc. for $20 million in early 2002. As a Director at Cyveillance, Inc., his projects involved Enterprise eBusiness Intelligence solutions for the Fortune 50. Cyveillance was acquired by QinetiQ North America for $40 million in 2009 and then acquired December 11, 2015, by LookingGlass Cyber Solutions™ and then to ZeroFox.™

Peter is a Graduate of the FBI Domestic Security Executive Academy 2009-Quantico, VA, FBI Citizens' Academy 2006 -Washington Field Office, 2019 InfraGard Leadership Academy-Quantico and Member of InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA), protecting the United States Critical Infrastructures.

These include individuals who have decades of experience from organizations such as the Big Four Accounting firms, Credit Suisse, Bank of America, TD Bank, ING, UnitedHealthcare, Discovery Health, LECG, Crowe Horwath LLP, Accenture, US Navy, US Army, SAIC, Ciber, CIA, DIA, Cigital, Virginia Urban Rescue Task Force One, Fairfax County Fire Department and numerous Fortune 500 companies in the Critical Infrastructure sectors. Many have advanced degrees, MBA's, JD's, PhD's and have written books and published papers focused on their respective thought leadership. Certifications such as CPA, CFSA, CFE, CISA, CBCP, CISSP, EnCE, NSA-IEM and NSA-IAM are the norm. The leadership of our VP, Practice Directors, Project Leaders and Senior Consultants extends to their industry associations where they are current and former chapter leaders in ACFE, SIA, IIA, GARP, ASIS, AICPA, ISSA, ISACA IAFC, AND INFRAGARD.
